How's this for a background?

Now on a more serious note;

I have been looking at different types of battleships ranging from WWII to modern day.

This is the HMS Ark Royal R07 not really what I call a battleship as it was only a light aircraft carrier as you can see from the raised deck at the front.

This is the Bismarck, a German battleship one of two largest warships built for the German Navy

This is the Yamato, a Japanese battleship, the Yamato and her sister ship Musashi were the heaviest and most powerfully armed battleships ever constructed, displacing 72,8000 tonnes at full load and armed with nine 46cm (18.1 inch) main guns.

Now these references are more for design inspiration than practicality.

I know some are Minecraft made but they are more for like I said design purposes.

Some are Steampunk based, others are more sci-fi and as we are going for a mixture between the two hopefully this will help.
